For a late lunch we had the French onion dumplings as an appetizer, and the Irish stout stew, pulled pork Sammie, and Wellington sandwich as our entrees. The dumplings had a tasty filling and the French onion soup as a sauce over them really put them over the top. The Irish stout stew was a huge portion to the point they could probably offer a half portion as an option for those with smaller appetites. It was well seasoned and the stew and potato proportions were good. The pulled pork sandwich was well sauced with a soft pretzel bun. The Wellington meat was perfectly tender, the sauce was a nice creamy accompaniment, and I loved the unusual croissant-style bun which added a nice buttery note. We also tried the Big Ben cola, lemon, and blue birch. The cola struck as similar to RC, the lemon was reminiscent of an Italian lemon soda, and the birch was a bit disappointing version of birch beer but overall they were good.
We went here while staying in Albrightsville. Our service was excellent. Morgan was such a fantastic server! Would totally come here again if we’re in town! Our group ordered the Wellington sandwich, cauliflower wings, tomato soup, and veggie burger as well as one of the drink flights to share. It was great!
We went to a local bar in Jim Thorpe for some brews and food. They have some small areas inside for people to sit and a nice long bar for everyone. They have outside seating but a little cold and wet tonight. There is a large selection of local beers and drinks (specials too). The bar counter is from the top of an old train car. It is also magnetized which is cool. Low key bar and music wasn’t that loud. Really mix mash of all genres. We went from Creed to John Denver and then to NSYNC. I got a Berwick Brewery Irish Red while the wife got some warm mulled wine. We just got some appetizers as we were not in the mood for a full meal. We selected the Wings with Korean BBQ and Bavarian Beer Pretzels. That was more than enough for us. A couple appetizers and the drinks came to 44 before tip. Was a nice night out and a very enjoyable atmosphere.
Great experience, great food, great atmosphere. Got there at exactly the right time about 11.45am. Was seated outside as we asked to be right away. Just a few minutes later boy did it get busy and folks were waiting a few minutes. Loved the iron chairs that are outside. I give them high marks on comfort. I had the Chunker burger. 5 stars. My wife had Irish Stew. It was fantastic. We both loved it. Would definitely go back. Great meal and atmosphere. I am sure these folks get swamped as this is a super busy town. I'd be patient as everyone was very kind and friendly. Worth the wait to eat there if you have to. My wife wanted me to add the exterior seating seamed to be pet friendly. There were two well bahaved dogs there while we ate. No issues.
The food was amazing, the staff was courteous and helpful, and the vibe was great. The server made a suggestion and it improved the experience. I would suggest anyone in the Jim Thorpe area who's looking to have a drink and enjoy some amazing food and good tunes to check this place out. Right next to the Theater in case you want to check out a show before or after. I really can't stress how good the food was. I'll be coming here anytime we are in Jim Thorpe. 5 stars.
Great dinner and atmosphere! Food: delicious. Started with cheese steak egg rolls, which were very good. My wife had the steak salad; very good and filled with plenty of steak. I had the beef stew; also filled with a lot of beef and was delicious- came overtop of potatoes Service: everyone was friendly and attentive Highly recommend
Fantastic Experience at Marion Hose Bar We recently had lunch with a large group at Marion Hose Bar, and it was a delightful experience! The outdoor seating was perfect, providing a comfortable and pleasant atmosphere for our gathering. The menu offered a fantastic collection of breads and sandwiches, along with a variety of soups and salads. Everything we tried was fresh and delicious, with standout flavors that impressed everyone. The service was attentive and friendly, ensuring we had everything we needed. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a great meal with excellent outdoor seating!
Had dinner here last weekend with a group and we all really enjoyed our meals. We were especially impressed with the different breads and buns used on each of our sandwiches. Between the pretzel bun on one to the croissant bun on another, we just thought that they made the sandwiches that much better. The mac and cheese was also delicious. I also had a really good martini. Overall a very good meal and experience.
